    26 вересня 2013 року вчителі закладу "Другі Київські курси іноземних мов" приймали участь у семінарі для вчителів -Teacher Training, який проводили видатні фахівці: Ромі Шорт (Romy Short)  та Джоанна Борисяк (Joanna Borysiak), за сприяння видавництва Oxford University Press.

Romy Short

    A former school Principal, Romy began her career as an English teacher and led the introduction of Language Awareness courses throughout the UK, to support speakers of English as a second language.

    She has held various senior positions as an assessment associate with national awarding bodies in the UK and with the International Baccalaureate as an examiner in English Language and English Literature. Her first degree is in English and linguistics. She has an MEd in IT and an MBA.

    Romy took up post with OUP as Global Director of Learning and Assessment with OUP in July 2012. Her task is to promote and manage the development of a portfolio of online assessments and digital learning resources for the ELT Division.

    She previously worked for Pearson for ten years in a variety of roles; she joined as Director of the digital group which produced a variety of learning resources and psychometric assessments for international use and then led an international group education policy consultancy, research and programme management. Prior to this, as Head of Schools, Further Education and Higher Education for the UK's largest Awarding Body, Romy managed the development of a portfolio in general (A levels and GCSE) and vocational qualifications and the associated teacher development programmes.

Joanna Borysiak

Joanna Borysiak

    An educator at heart, Joanna started her career in ELT 12 years ago, working for a leading private language school in Warsaw, Poland, specializing in Business English and ESP training.

    In 2006 she moved to the UK and joined Oxford University Press, working across the educational parts of the business: ELT and UK primary schools, with focus on literacy. In her time with OUP, Joanna has been responsible for global marketing of some of the most loved and best-selling ELT materials: Project, Headway and English File.

    Her current role is in the exciting area of educational measurement and English proficiency testing -delivered online using the latest developments in assessment theory and technology.
